NTB CERATUFF high density grinding media & liners are made from high-alumina materials using advanced media technology. They retain their shape better & last much longer than flint or porcelain media/liners with outstanding performance in both wet & dry grinding operations. The higher media density of 3.65 g/cc. achieves faster grinding with proportional increase in production with energy saving, & more efficient dispersion due to the finer particle size distribution, of the milled material. NTB Ball Mill Liners are typically supplied in 20 to 40 mm thickness. These are provided with the required taper angle & green machined for perfect fit.

Milling Recommendations For NTB Media
Media Charge: A greater weight of grinding media in the mill generally means faster & finer production. The recommended mill charge for efficient grinding is 50-60% of mill volume with batch mills charged on the high side & continuous mills on the low side of this volume.
Material Charge: Always cover the grinding media with at least 50 mm of material to be ground. A balanced viscosity is recommended for wet grinding & this is determined by the product. Low viscosities & thixotropic materials cause energy wastage with rapid wear of media & mill lining.
Mill Speed: NTB high density grinding media rely on their greater unit weight and not impact to achieve faster particle size reduction. Mills should operate at 60 to 70% of critical speed. For scale-ups one should note that mills of larger diameters give faster results than laboratory mills.
Use Media Charge of Assorted Sizes: A balanced blend of two to four media sizes is recommended. Large size media is required to break up large or hard particles in the charge. Smaller media fills in the voids & promotes finer grinding. Rod & ball shaped medica can be mixed but rods work to their greatest efficiency in a mill by themselves. Rods have a lower void volume & much greater contact area than spheres & consequently reduce grinding time by 20% when compared to round/sphere media. Rods are not recommended for mills with lifter bars.
Packaging: Our normal packaging in wooden crates is acceptable for domestic & export requirements. Special packaging can also be arranged.
