NTB offer CERATUFF Alumina and Zirconia ceramic components for the Wire and Cable industry. NTB CERATUFF Drawing Cones & Rings, Guide Elements & Pulleys, Rolls etc. provide more efficient and economical production of quality wires, when compared to machines equipped with hardened steel, carbide and coated components.
 NTB CERATUFF Wire Drawing Cones, Capstans and Pulleys use a metal/ceramic "bolt-together" composite design. The cones have machined cores and flanges which precisely locate the replacable ceramic rings at the outer diameter. This avoids the thermal expansion mismatch between the ceramic and the metal and also protects the ceramic components from damage. Dynamic balancing is provided in high speed applications to ensure product safety and performance. Alumina (99.5%) are used for their very high surface finish. NTB Yttria stabilized Zirconia has the Zirconia in tetragonal and/or cubic structure. Main characteristics are excellent fracture toughness, high bending strength, chemical inertness and the capacity to remain smooth, even under severe wear conditions.
