Friction Drop Hammers
Hammers: Friction Drop
NKH Self Contained Friction Drop Hammer is being manufactured in six different ca-pacities, namely 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000, and 4000 Kgs. NKH Friction Hammers have been designed and developed with Indian know-how and material.

Anvil Block
NKH’s Anvil Block, is a solid single semi-steel casting that is weighing approximately 20 times the nominal size of the hammer or TUP. It is made in the dovetailed type with an inverted VEE recess which is machined in the anvil block on the top side of it. Die holder is secured to the anvil by putting a Anvil Block tapered wedge in between the anvil and the die holder.

Positive Water Cooling
This Anvil Block has Positive water cooling arrangement to avoid excessive heating of the friction drum. It needs continuous water flow of approximately half gallon per minute through the lifter shaft for cooling action.

Lifting Mechanism
Lifting MechanismOn the top of standards is mounted a Headgear fabricated from rolled steel sections. The drive is through Vee belts from a high torque A.C. electric motor via flywheel and reduction gears to the lifter shaft. A friction lifting arrangements is fitted onto the lifter shaft which runs on double ball bearings and a central phosphor bronze bearing which also acts as a support. The friction lifter consists of a constantly rotating drum around which is arranged a steel band with friction lining. This band is anchored at one end to stud in the lifter drum and the other end is carried by a camshaft running through the lifter drum and actuated by a lever.
