Oil Water Separator Oil Water Separator

Low Vacuum De-Hydration Equipment (LVDH) --- (water in oil separators)

Ferrocare’s low vacuum dehydration unit is a compact unit to remove water and gases from oil at a temperature lower than 50°C; thus drastically reducing oxidation during the dehydration process.

Condensed water is trapped via condensate tank. Dissolved air and gases from oil are bled to the atmosphere via the vacuum pump.

Schematic Mechanical Circuit Diagram

Features:

  • Totally automatic operation.
  • Ultimate water removal through oil recirculation – to zero-free water content or to 50% below saturation level.
  • Reduces water content in a single pass by 0.25% - 1.5% depending on inlet oil temperature.
  • Removal of soluble gases and air – to 50% of saturation level.

A Comparison
Centrifuging
Vacuum Dehydration
Muse heat oil to 80°C for efficient removal of impurities and water.
Water is removed from oil below 55°C.

Heating oil depletes additives.
No additive depletion.
Muse be used off-line. All related machinery must be stopped to drain Oil into barrels / tanks for cleaning.
Can be used on-line, is therefore user-friendly.

Aerates oil, thus increasing net oxygen supply and depleting anti-oxidation Additive.
No aeration. No additive depletion.

Cannot remove emulsified water. Gear pumps used in centrifuging increase emulsification.
Easy and total removal of free and emulsified water/moisture.
Cannot remove low molecular weight oxidised oil fraction.
Removes.

Cannot remove dissolved gases like Ammonia/Nitrogen.
Removes.

Cannot remove solid impurities below 10 micron, efficiently.

In conjunction with Electrostatic-Oil Cleaners, removal efficiency is better than 0.01 micron.
High energy consumption.
Low.
Many moving parts requiring frequent maintenance.
Only two pumps. Vacuum and discharge.

Automatic water discharge.
