Electric Heating Elements
Joule Tech offers several Electric Heating Elements with the maximum watt density ranging from 5 to 60 W/Sq. inch. As such, these heaters are used in several applications. The Electric Heating Elements provided by Joule Tech can be classified into four broad categories:
- Half & Fully Sheathed Ring Heaters
- Immersion Heaters
- Open Cartridge Heaters
- Fibre Glass Heating Tape
Half & Fully Sheathed Ring Heaters
The Half & Fully Sheathed Ring Heaters’ maximum watt density is rated at 58 W/Sq. inch and the maximum surface temperature peaks at 650 degrees Celsius. The Half Sheathed heaters come in eight convenient sizes. These consist of MgO insulated heating coil with terminal studs. Moreover, being sheathed in one side only, these heaters have very little residual heat. The Fully Sheathed heaters are used where there are chances of falling liquid on it and where the atmosphere contains more humidity. The Half & Fully Sheathed Ring Heaters are used in the heating of dies, moulds, and packaging machines. They are also used in soft metal melting, etc.
Immersion Heaters
The Immersion Heaters come in a Tubular or Rod type, with a sheath material suit to withstand corrosion of liquid to be heated. The sizes and rating of these heaters can be customized as per the requirement. These heaters come in a Flange or Screw type end connection and with /without a flameproof terminal cover. The heaters come with a maximum watt density of 60 W/Sq. inch and the maximum surface temperature is rated at 400 degrees Celsius. These heaters are suitable for heating various liquids such as water, oil, chemicals and acids.
Open Cartridge Heaters
The Open Cartridge Heaters are available in various diameters and lengths as per the customers’ specifications. However, the standard diameters range from 8mm OD to 75mm OD. They can be designed for vertical as well as horizontal installations, with the required heating and non-heating zones. These heaters come with a maximum watt density of 30 W/Sq. inch and the maximum surface temperature is rated at 400 degrees Celsius. The Open Cartridge heaters are widely used as immersion heaters or as air heaters by selecting appropriate sheath materials for heating various types of chemicals, oils & water or air and gases.
Fibre Glass Heating Tape
The Fibre Glass Heating Tape comes with a maximum watt density of 5 W/Sq. inch and the maximum surface temperature is rated up to 150 degrees Celsius. Helical heating coil insulated with fibre glass sleeve & tape is suitable for a maximum of 150°C skin temperature. It will have terminal leads with ceramic connectors at either ends. The Fibre Glass Heating Tape is used to heat viscous fluids by wrapping it around pipes, flasks, beakers, etc. It is also used in anti-condensation applications in motors, generator sets, etc.
