Auto Expo 2008, on its 6th day, still is gleaning overwhelming response from the people at home and across the globe. Still leading from the front is the Tata’s one lakh car. The expo is witnessing a souring of visitors ever since it took off. The visitors have flocked from near and far to see this car. This show proved once again, why it is one of the biggest and the most magnetic show in terms of generating mass interest among auto buffs.
This Auto show will undisputedly be remembered down the line as the nano expo, considering the number of bated breath that it succeeded in generating.
Ranjan Sabu, General Manager (sales), ANG Auto, has a very professional view regarding the show. ``The Auto Expo is for two types of people: the company which is going to launch their product and the advertisers’’, he said. He further injected, ``there is no scope for other people in terms of business’’.
When asked about the kind of business expected from this show, Sabu said, ``This kind of show will not generate instant business but, yes, we are getting commitments from different corporate worlds’’. Considering the pool of visitors who paid a visit to the show does not mean affluent business, these automobiles you see around costs lakhs of rupees and needs exhaustive evaluations ahead of buying, Sabu said.
Sanjay Chaudhary, Group Leader (Technical) from Bharat Gears Ltd. was very happy with the response they are getting from the expo. Bharat Gears, automotive gear manufacturer, is present here to promote its automotive gears. “Actually we are here for foreign leads and clients from USA, UK, China, etc.”, Chaudhary said. The Auto Expo 2008 is a perfect platform for us and for many other industries which are in automotive industry, he added.
Visitors from home as well as around the world were very excited about the Tata’s one lakh car. One visitor, Himanshu Shah, was very excited. ``I was disparately waiting for this moment and now it’s like a dream come true to get to see the car’’, he said. I always welcomed this kind of exhibition where people can easily see and decide which car to buy, he gushed.
After the expo gets over there will be a lot reevaluation to do for the manufacturers and buyers. Distributors and manufacturers will have to reassess their strategies to meet the demands of potential buyers. The real work will start after the expo, when these road rollers will be tested for its performance.
