To mark the end of yet another successful event – Elecrama 2008, the IEEMA members organised a prize distribution yesterday, i.e. on the 4th day of Elecrama, to appreciate the belief, dedication and interest the exhibitors have shown for Elecrama.
This edition of Elecrama has set yet another milestone. This time the show witnessed footfalls of 75,000 visitors from all over the country and the world as well, where 45,000 people are from B2B industry. Rajeev Ketkar (Executive officer IEEMA) says that IEEMA is overwhelmed by the huge response that Elecrama has received in this edition of 2008.
The award ceremony, which included participants of both the stalls and student’s pavilion, was also attended by various business top shots and technocrats from various sectors of electrical and electronics industries.
The Best Stall Award was categorised in to two models: Best Stall in Bare Space Category and Best Stall in Shell Category. The bare space type was subdivided into three ranges – Area up to and including 75 sq meters; Area above 75 sq meters and below 200 sq meters, and area above 200 sq meters, respectively.
Modern Malleables Ltd., KEI Industries Ltd., Areva T & D got the 1st prize in the respective categories. The Certificate of Appreciation was also bestowed to various exhibitors, who have put up their stall at this edition of Elecrama.
The IEEMA SSI pavilion award was won by Cosmo Electro Industries Pvt. Ltd.
The Shell segment comprised awards for best stall for areas up to and including 15 sq meters; area above 15 sq meters and below 30 sq meters; and area above 30 sq meters. Comet Industries, Precision Plastic Industries, and Essen Deinki won in the respective categories.
The winners were judged on the basis of ambience, presentation, facilities, and the overall delight offered to visitors.
IEEMA also organised a special ceremony for giving special awards to the students who were able to amass visitors in and around their project in the student’s pavilion. This platform showcased talents from various corners of India. The students came up with unique, hi-tech projects in the field of engineering which prioritised the future need of technology and environment.
The Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (Wireless Power Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (W-PSCADA)) walked off with the 1st Prize (Rs 1 lakh and certificate to Institute, and a Trophy and cash award of Rs 25,000 to the students).
The 2nd Prize in this category went to Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Mumbai (Linear Synchronous Motor Project) and K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidyavihar, Mumbai (Simulator). The prize included Rs 25,000 and certificate for the institute and Rs 15,000 for the students.
The Karaikal Polytechnic College, Karaikal (Force Measurement using Strain Gauge in Modern Industry); Shri Datta Meghe Polytechnic, Nagpur (Automatic Electric Iron with Cloth Safety); and Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology, Mumbai (SCRYER – Wireless Telemetry System) were awarded the third prize – Rs 15,000 and certificate for the institute, and Rs 10,000 for the students.
A special award was also given to National Institute of Technology, Agartala; Shri Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic, Mumbai; and Vidya Prasarak Mandal’s Polytechnic, Thane, for their respective.
