GO India 2007, an exposition and conference, organised by DMG World Media in association with Inter Ads successfully reached out to its target audience here in New Delhi. The exhibition which was held from October 31 to November 2 was largely attended by national and international companies having expertise in oil and gas industry. The exhibitors participating in the event showed satisfaction with the response they received at the exhibition.
The exhibition was organised to meet the challenges and promote co-operation, understanding and technology transfer between the international and Indian oil & gas industry. With a focus on the commercial and investment opportunities presented by India’s growing demand for Oil and Gas, the exhibition showcased advanced technologies and services needed to further uplift the development of a world-class industry.
A wide range of exhibitors participated in the show including Oil and Gas exploration & production, Processing, Refining, Storage, Transportation, Marketing, Retailing and Infrastructure companies. The visitors, mainly consultants, showed a great deal of interest in the expertise that various companies displayed in their respective pavilion.
The pavilion of Reliance Industries Limited, which attracted a lot of attention from the visitors with their model of KG D6 Offshore operations in Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), showed a miniature form of their two gas deposits and oil deposits in the region. They also included in their model the projected East West Gas pipeline from Kakinada to Jamnagar, which spans across 4 states.
The ONGC pavilion was another major centre of attraction. Though it was mainly dominated by consultants enquiring about the various services provided by the Company, it had other visitors as well. According to Jameel Pasha, Corporate Communication Officer (ONGC), students from University of Petroleum (Dehradun) also visited the pavilion in large number to enquire about the career prospect in the sector. Enquiries regarding the International venture OVL were also made.
The discoverer of the Rajasthan oil deposits, the biggest oil field in India during the last 22 years, Cairn Energy India also received a fair amount of visitors as they managed to get some good business leads as well. GAIL, which provides services for gas transmission and pipeline, also got some good lead from the exhibition.
The Government of Alberta, Canada displayed a whole range of Net leak detection and other related services. What was popular among the visitors was the courses and job opportunities offered by the companies.
The conference that was organised along with the exhibition had speakers speaking on a wide range of issues including Mapping the Geopolitical and Competitive Landscape, Gas Transmission, Sales and Distribution Prospects and Development of the Indian Sedimentary Basin, Developments in Hydrocarbon E&P, Refining and Processing, The Technology of Risk Management in the Hydrocarbon Industry, Identifying Hurdles and Opportunities within the New Evolving Regulatory Environment, and Oil Trading.
