Poised for next leap

Unlike the earlier years, the India International Trade Fair (IITF), starting from November 14 this year, is all set for a different flavour. Known for its professional know-how and international touch, the show this year, has altogether an innovative theme of ‘processed food and agro-based industry’.

The Indian Government has recently shown keen interest in promoting food and agro-processing industries. The show, this year, will offer scope for the Indian agro-based industries to interact with the International trading partners, boosting the quality of business. The International market has been for a long time, eyeing rural India for tapping its immense potential in agro products and the show is all set to offer these opportunity to participating delegates.

The IITF, a theme-based event, in the previous year witnessed huge exhibitor and visitor participation, elevating its status as one of the largest shows in Asia. The participation figures in 2006 witnessed a huge worldwide response – attracting more than 7,500 Indian companies and 350 overseas companies from 34 countries in the 14-day event, including 3,00,000 business visitors and 3 million general visitors. The expectation this year seems to be much higher.

The mega show this year too will be providing an appropriate platform for the Manufacturers, Traders, Exporters and Importers to showcase their products and do business. Each edition of the fair, in the past has turned out to be more successful than the preceding fair.

The IITF, in the recent years has become a reflection of the development of the market, leveraging India's domestic and global trade exchanges. A wide variety of product encompassing the Processed food and Agro industries will be showcased this year at the gala show. This 14 day mega-event will have on display almost everything that is manufactured in the respective categories.

The IITF 2007 will be attended by foreign delegates including from Afghanistan, Brazil, China, Korea, SAARC nations, Poland, Iran, Nigeria, South Africa (free State Province), Tanzania, Egypt, etc. This will also include seminars from eminent professionals comprising the domestic and international market.

It is anticipated that apart from large numbers of buyers & business delegations from different States & UTs, 90 business delegations from 60 countries including Brazil, Mexico, China, Nigeria, U.K., USA, Canada, Italy, Australia, Germany and many other developing countries will also be attending the show. The partner state is Himachal Pradesh and the focus state this year is Meghalaya.

Permanent pavilions for Defence, Crafts Museum, Handloom Pavilion, Nehru Pavilion and National Science Centre, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare will also be available at the show.

The Exhibitor profile include Coir Products, Jute, Textiles, Garments, Household Appliance, Kitchen Appliances, Processed food, Beverages, Confectionery, Drugs, Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Cosmetics, Body & Health care products, Telecommunication, Power sector, Electronic Sector, Furniture, Home Furnishings, Sports Goods, Toys, Engineering Goods, etc.

Given the reputation of the IITF and the business it generates, the show is sure to make its mark this year too.
