INDIA TELECOM 2007 – A Digital Divide to Digital Opportunities, a four-day megashow was organised jointly by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India from December 12 to December 15, 2007 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The show served as a platform for interactive sessions between government officials, policy makers, industrial leaders, and potential investors. It focused on the networking opportunity and exchange of ideas for future business alliances, buyers-sellers meet, global experiences and showcasing state-of-the-art technologies.
The industry leaders like Reliance, Ashok Leland, Nokia Siemens Networks, Motorola, Qualicom, and many other leading conglomerates were present to promote their products. Apart from these, international companies from major countries also actively participated in the show. The exhibition proved a versatile platform for the manufacturers to showcase their telecom products.
Anshul Joshi, Manager of Engine Business Unit, from Ashok Leyland said that he was satisfied with the arrangements made by the organisers. Talking about their product, Leypower (Power Genset), he said that they were there to promote the product and not for business. “In spite of all these, the show was an excellent and well organised and provided us a very good opportunity” Anshul concluded.
Suchit Aggarwal of Nokia Siemens Networks was very busy with the clients and customers at the show. Nokia Siemens Networks was there to promote their New Business Models to meet consumer needs with innovative solutions. While talking about the show he said, "FICCI has organised the show magnificently and we are satisfied with the kind of arrangement FICCI had provided".
Sanjay Jain of Jindal Infotech Pvt. Ltd., who actively participated in the show for the promotion of their product, Florida Magic Screen protector, for mobile users was not very pleased with the arrangements. “FICCI is not up to the mark in terms of promotion of the show,” he said.
Overall FICCI did a good job to organise the 2nd International Exhibition & Conference for Telecom World and most of the exhibitors were happy with the kind of show that was put up and felt that this was an excellent platform for business opportunities.
